Bala Mohammed's APC Defection Uncertain Amid Speculation

Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, has not yet defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as there has been no agreement reached between him and the APC. A source within the APC stated that no consultations have been held regarding this matter, and the speculation surrounding his defection remains unconfirmed.

The source emphasized that Governor Mohammed is currently not concerned about his political future but is focused on protecting his interests and remaining loyal to the PDP. Despite being the chairman of the PDP Governors' Forum, there are rumors of his potential departure due to crises affecting the party.

The PDP is reportedly making efforts to revive the party, with plans for a national convention scheduled to take place in Ibadan, Oyo State, in November 2025.
