Tinubu Approves NYSC Reforms for Youth Development

President Bola Tinubu has approved reforms for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) aimed at equipping young Nigerians with practical skills to prepare them for national development. This decision was made during a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Monday.

Tinubu emphasized that while the NYSC has served to unite the nation for over five decades, the changing realities of the country necessitate a new approach to the program. He reiterated his administration's commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for young people, particularly women and youth, as part of his promise when he assumed office.

The NYSC scheme, established in 1973, has been a significant aspect of national unity and development, and the reforms are intended to preserve its mission while adapting to contemporary demands.
