Anyamele Donates N10m for Africa Challenge Trophy in Nigeria

Samuel Anyamele, a businessman and former Vice President of the Nigeria Golf Federation, has donated N10 million to the Ladi Golfer Association Nigeria (LGAN) in preparation for Nigeria's hosting of the Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) championship, set to take place from November 1 to November 7, 2026, at the IBB International Golf Country Club. In an interview with Golf Digest, Anyamele emphasized the significance of this tournament as a unique opportunity to reshape global perceptions of Nigeria, highlighting that it could encourage tourism and economic growth.

He likened the scale of the tournament to major continental events, such as the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, and called for government support to successfully host 20 African countries. Anyamele noted that hosting international tournaments can significantly benefit local economies, including small businesses and tourism, and stressed the importance of collective effort in promoting Nigeria as a safe and attractive destination.
