Bomai Rejects APC Consensus Candidacy in Yobe

Senator Bomai has publicly expressed his opposition to the consensus candidacy approach within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe, which was reportedly endorsed by the state governor, Mai Mala Buni. Bomai, representing the Yobe South senatorial zone, criticized the consensus method as undemocratic, asserting that it silences the voices of the people and does not align with their interests.

He emphasized the importance of allowing individuals from different zones to participate in the primaries to determine the party's flag bearer. Bomai highlighted that the current consensus arrangement violates the APC's guidelines and the Electoral Act of Nigeria, stating that leadership decisions should not be made behind closed doors.

He called on political leaders and stakeholders to respect democratic processes and ensure that the aspirations of all candidates are considered fairly and inclusively.
