Gov Buni Named APC Consensus Candidate for Yobe East

Governor Mai Mala Buni has emerged as the consensus candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Yobe East senatorial seat. This decision was made during a primary election held on Monday at the Arts and Culture Centre in Damaturu, Yobe State.

The event saw the participation of numerous APC members, including Ibrahim Geidam, the Minister of Police Affairs, Musa Mustapha, the APC State Chairman, and Mohammadu Gadaka. During the proceedings, Musa Mustapha moved a motion to adopt Governor Buni as the consensus candidate, which was seconded by Lawan Shettima, a member of the House of Representatives.

The chairman of the APC primary election committee for Yobe East, Ambassador Babagana Ajimi, presented the certificate of return to Governor Buni. In his acceptance speech, Buni expressed gratitude to the APC stakeholders in Yobe East for their endorsement and commitment to serving the people.

The primary election was conducted under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission, led by Abubakar Maaji.
