Yobe APC Leaders Reject Wali's Endorsement, Support Bomai

In Yobe State, chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have publicly rejected the endorsement of Baba Malam Wali for the governorship candidacy, instead rallying behind Ibrahim Moham Bomai. During a meeting held in Potiskum, stakeholders, including Yusuf Zaki, criticized the endorsement process, stating it lacked broad consultation and did not reflect the grassroots' wishes.

Zaki emphasized that no individual or group should impose a candidate on the party, taking a swipe at former governor Ibrahim Geidam and the current Minister of Police Affairs. The chieftains, including Kashim Musa Tumsah, warned against any manipulation of the primary election process, asserting that it undermines the party's credibility.

Tumsah expressed his intent to obtain a nomination form and urged party leadership to ensure a level playing field during the primaries. Former Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali also criticized the endorsement, advocating for a voluntary agreement among aspirants to support a single candidate.
