John Obi Mikel Rejects NFF Offers, Cites Mismanagement

John Obi Mikel, the former captain of the Super Eagles, has publicly rejected multiple offers to work with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF). He expressed his inability to collaborate with the current football administration in Nigeria, stating that they lack the necessary knowledge to manage the sport effectively.

Mikel criticized the long-standing officials of the NFF for not prioritizing the advancement of football, pointing out that the administration has remained stagnant without fostering significant progress. He emphasized that funds allocated for football have been mismanaged.

In a podcast hosted by Peter Crouch, Mikel remarked that people in positions of power are reluctant to relinquish control, which affects the financial benefits received. He stated that he cannot work with individuals who do not share the objective of improving the standards of football in Nigeria and highlighted the need for proper resource management to significantly enhance Nigerian football.
