Nenadi Usman: Peter Obi's Return to Labour Party Too Late

Nenadi Usman, the interim national chairperson of the Labour Party, asserted in an interview on Wednesday that it would be too late for Peter Obi to return to the party as its presidential candidate for the 2023 elections. She highlighted that the party's registration process is closed for 21 days following the primary elections, as stipulated by the Electoral Act.

Usman acknowledged Peter Obi's contributions to elevating the party's profile during the 2023 elections but emphasized that the current momentum cannot be matched. Additionally, she pointed out that the crisis within the party began when Peter Obi and his faction went to Umuahia to set up a caretaker committee, blaming the national chairman, Julius Abure, for the internal issues.
