Nenadi Usman: Peter Obi's Return to Labour Party Too Late

Nenadi Usman, the interim national chairperson of the Labour Party, expressed in an interview on Arise Television that it would be too late for Peter Obi to return to the Labour Party after the voter registration deadline in late 2023. She highlighted that the registration period would close 21 days prior to the primary elections, as stipulated by the Electoral Act.

Usman noted that once the registration is completed, there would be no opportunity for Obi to rejoin the party through backdoor means. She emphasized that Obi had previously elevated the party's profile during the 2023 elections, and currently, there is a strong belief in the Labour Party's principles of equity and fair play among its members.
