Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris Leads Labour Relations for Tinubu

Abdullahi Idris, the Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, announced the governor's appointment to head the Directorate of Labour Union Relations in President Bola Tinubu's 2027 Campaign Council. Idris emphasized that the governor's decades of experience in organized labor, including roles as Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers at local and state levels, National Treasurer, President of NUT, and Deputy National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, make him well-suited for this role.

He highlighted Idris' contributions to labor reforms, notably extending teachers' retirement age from 60 to 65 years and service years from 35 to 40 years. The governor has also been recognized for his mediation skills during labor disputes.

Furthermore, he has strengthened the APC in Kebbi State through stakeholder mobilization and was the first state governor to endorse President Tinubu for a second term. Abdullahi Idris expressed confidence that Governor Idris would leverage his labor and political experience to benefit the campaign council.
