National Forum Boosts Nigeria's Tourism Sector Growth

The national hospitality and tourism stakeholders’ forum took place in Abuja on April 1, 2026, under the theme "Shape the Future of Nigerian Tourism Together." The forum aimed to foster public-private alliances in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's economic diversification agenda. Hannatu Musa Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, commended the forum for its role in strengthening collaboration among government officials, industry leaders, and partners to drive action in the tourism sector.

Dr. Ola Awakani, the Director General of the Nigeria Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), convened the event, which focused on repositing tourism as a central pillar for economic diversification and job creation.

Musawa highlighted the need for a coordinated ecosystem to unlock synergies and enhance Nigeria's position as a global cultural tourism powerhouse. The forum is set to become an annual event, ensuring sustained momentum in showcasing Nigerian and African culture while connecting private sector players to new market opportunities.
