Why Nigerian Govt pardoned Ibom Air passenger – Falana

Human rights activist Femi Falana SAN has disclosed the reason behind the Nigerian government's decision to pardon Ibom Air passenger Comfort Emmanson. Falana stated that the government withdrew the case against the female passenger for allegedly assaulting Fuji Star Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, known as KWAM 1, as they found no appropriate criminal offense to charge her with.

He criticized the government for hastily accepting KWAM 1's apology and granting him pardon without allowing the police to conclude their investigation. Falana emphasized that all citizens have equal rights and obligations under the law, and accused the government of subjecting the unruly passenger to discriminatory treatment by pardoning KWAM 1 without a criminal trial.
