Airport incidents: FG orders withdrawal of case against Ibom Air passenger, reduces KWAM1’s flight ban to one-month

The Federal Government's Ministry of Aviation has ordered the withdrawal of the case against Ibom Air passenger, Comfort Emmanson, who was remanded in prison following an incident on August 10, 2025. The decision came after consultations with critical stakeholders in the aviation sector.

Minister Festus Keyamo stated that the move was necessary due to the unruly behavior of certain individuals at the airport. Keyamo condemned the actions of Emmanson but also criticized the circulation of an indecent video showing her in a compromised state.

Following remorse shown by Emmanson, Ibom Airline has withdrawn the complaint against her, and she has been released from prison with a reduced flight ban. Additionally, the ban on Fuji icon KWAM1 has been reduced to one month, with his pilot license being restored after critical consultations with stakeholders.

The government has also emphasized the importance of airport security protocols in light of recent incidents.
