FG Withdraws Charges Against Emerson, KWAM 1, Lifts Flight Ban

The Federal Government has withdrawn criminal charges against Ms. Comfort Emmanson, a passenger accused of unruly behavior on an Ibom Air flight, and Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1.

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, made the announcement after consulting with key stakeholders in the aviation sector. The decision was based on individual remorse shown and the valuable lesson learned from the incident.

Ibom Air has agreed to withdraw the complaint against Emmanson, who has shown great remorse for her actions. KWAM 1 has also had the criminal complaint against him withdrawn by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

The government has emphasized the importance of proper airport security protocols and will be conducting a retreat to retrain aviation security personnel on dealing with disruptive passengers. The decision to lift the flight ban and withdraw charges was made out of compassion and a commitment to safety and security in the aviation sector.
