Former Edo Governor Obaseki Clarifies Absence, Undertakes Fellowship Abroad

Former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki clarifies his absence from Edo, attributing it to allowing the new governor, Mondai Okpebholo, to govern without distractions. Obaseki's spokesperson, Chris Nehikhare, mentioned that Obaseki is currently participating in a fellowship program at a foreign university and has no political ambitions at the moment.

The decision to stay away was to prevent unnecessary comparisons with the new administration and to give them the opportunity to perform without interference. Obaseki aims to maintain his honor and has no intentions of running for a Senate position.
