Obi and Kwankwaso Exit ADC Amid Internal Conflicts

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, and Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, have reportedly left the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. Their departure stems from internal wrangling within the ADC, which made it difficult for them to continue their presidential aspirations under the party.

Despite joining ADC as a coalition platform to oppose the All Progressives Congress (APC), both politicians expressed dissatisfaction with the party's handling of presidential ticket matters. Sources indicate that Obi and Kwankwaso were uncomfortable with ADC's silence on the zoning issue and felt that the party was not making serious efforts to address their concerns.

Obi, reflecting on his experience, described the emotional burden and pressure he faced while trying to serve sincerely in difficult circumstances, emphasizing the need for solidarity and understanding.
