Umeh Explains Inevitable Exit of Peter Obi from ADC

Senator Umeh, representing Anambra Central in the National Assembly, discussed the recent exit of Peter Obi from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) during an interview on Arise Television's prime time program. Umeh claimed that the departure was inevitable due to visible signs of imbalance within the ADC coalition, which was formed by politicians from diverse backgrounds but lacked a clearly defined leadership structure.

He stressed that the alliance would need to refine itself over time to produce a credible unified candidate for elections. Umeh also asserted that Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, was not a presidential candidate for the ADC, suggesting that Obi was seeking an easier path to the presidential ticket.

Umeh characterized Obi as a principled figure who avoids transactional politics and refuses to engage in money-driven party processes.
