Expert Highlights Tertiary Institutions' Failure to Impact Nigeria's Economy

Dr. Nonyenim Enyindah, a medical expert and director of a psychiatric hospital in Port Harcourt, emphasized the failure of tertiary institutions in Nigeria to contribute significantly to the nation's economic potential.

He pointed out the dilapidated conditions of these institutions, the lack of digital skills among graduates, and the disconnect between education output and labor market needs. Enyindah urged the government to address these issues by embracing innovative technologies to align with global practices.

He highlighted the importance of technology in driving economic development and social stability. Enyindah's observations were made during a lecture at Pamo University of Medical Sciences in Port Harcourt, River State.
