Tinubu Orders EFCC to Unfreeze Osun State Accounts

President Bola Tinubu instructed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to unfreeze the Osun State Government’s accounts, citing public perception and outrage regarding the timing of the EFCC's actions. This decision was explained by Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, who is also the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Sub-Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the upcoming Osun State governorship election on August 15.

Sule stated that even if there were valid reasons for freezing the accounts, the potential for public misunderstanding led the President to request their immediate unfreezing. He dismissed claims that the APC instigated the EFCC's actions, asserting that the freezing of accounts is not a political party's responsibility.

Additionally, Sule emphasized the party's commitment to a peaceful election campaign, aiming to win the support of the Osun electorate without hostility.
