Celestial Church Pastor Kills Wife, Commits Suicide

On August 31, 2023, Bidemi Odukoya, a shepherd of the Celestial Church of Christ, Iri Orun Parish in Akiode Ibogun, Ogun State, allegedly murdered his wife during a midnight domestic dispute over suspected infidelity. The incident occurred around 2 AM when Odukoya reportedly used a machete and a wooden stool to kill her.

Following the act, he fled the scene and subsequently jumped in front of a speeding truck on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, resulting in his immediate death. Both Odukoya and his wife were buried the same day beside their home, as the local community struggled to comprehend the tragic events that unfolded.
