Farouq Aliyu Critiques Nyesom Wike's Political Arrogance

Farouq Aliyu, the former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), accused Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), of arrogance during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday. This statement was in response to Wike's recent remarks on Arise Television, where he labeled APC governors as “politically lazy.” Wike's comments were prompted by a communique from the APC governors rejecting any alliances that could jeopardize the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and other candidates in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Aliyu stated, “Arrogance is not good in politics,” emphasizing that while they appreciate Wike's past contributions, they will not permit him to use the APC to further his own agenda or rebuild the People's Democratic Party (PDP). He asserted that Wike cannot infiltrate the APC under the guise of supporting President Tinubu.
