Wike's PDP Faction Rejects Turaki's ADC Meeting Claims

The Nyesom Wike-backed faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) expressed strong disapproval regarding a meeting held by the Taminu Turaki-led faction with the African Democratic Congress (ADC). In a statement from the PDP's national publicity secretary, Mohammed, on Wednesday, it was emphasized that the meeting was not authorized by the PDP and that the party had not engaged in any formal discussions with the ADC.

The statement urged PDP members to disregard the claims made by the Turaki faction, labeling them as baseless and not reflective of the party's position. The Wike faction stressed the importance of focusing on the upcoming PDP primaries and maintaining a commitment to credible leadership in Nigeria.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Turaki faction had visited the David Mark-led ADC for a solidarity engagement, which lasted from 5 PM to 7 PM, discussing national development and inter-party cooperation. Prominent figures at the meeting included former ministers and governors, highlighting the significance of the discussions ahead of the 2027 elections.
