Wike's Faction Rejects Turaki-led PDP NEC Meeting

Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, has publicly disassociated the People's Democratic Party (PDP) from the 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting convened by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki and Adolphus Wabara. Wike's faction asserts that the meeting is null and void, lacking constitutional legitimacy and failing to comply with the Electoral Act of 2026, which mandates a minimum of 21 days' notice for such gatherings.

The statement, made available by Hon. Jungudo Haruna, emphasizes that the purported meeting has no legal standing and is a misrepresentation of the party's leadership.

Wike's faction criticized the actions of Wabara and others as opportunistic and self-serving, highlighting their previous anti-party activities, including support for the election of Governor Alex Otti. The faction calls for disciplinary measures against those involved and urges party members and the public to disregard the illegitimate assembly and its outcomes, reaffirming the PDP's commitment to its constitutional principles and democratic values.
