PDP, Backed by Wike, Reschedules Convention Amid Leadership Disputes

The People's Democratic Party (PDP), under the influence of Nyesom Wike, has shifted its national convention to March 29-30, dissolving zonal committees in South West, North West, and Plateau State. The caretaker committee, led by Abdulrahman Moham, made this decision in Abuja to accommodate certain factors.

The move follows a court nullifying the 2025 convention and restraining Tanimu Turaki and others. Wike's faction, including Abdulrahman Moham and Samuel Anyanwu, continues to assert authority despite legal battles.

The party aims for unity, inclusivity, and adherence to electoral laws. INEC's refusal to recognize factions has led to legal disputes, with the Wike-backed group welcoming the court's decision.

The PDP remains focused on a transparent and inclusive national convention.
