Wike Denies Interference in APC Screening of Fubara

Nyesom Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), dismissed claims regarding his interference in the All Progressives Congress (APC) screening of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Wike clarified that he has no involvement in the internal affairs of the APC, emphasizing that he is not a member of the party and therefore cannot comment on the screening process.

His statement followed media reports suggesting that Fubara appeared visibly angry during the APC screening. Wike stated, "I don’t know what happened at the screening," and expressed that Fubara did not communicate any issues to him.

He also mentioned that questions regarding the APC's internal matters should be directed to the party itself. Wike was speaking to journalists while inspecting infrastructure projects in the FCT, where he expressed satisfaction with the pace of work on various projects.
