Wike Critiques Fubara's Early Political Moves in Rivers

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stated that Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State made significant mistakes by trying to establish his political structure too soon after taking office. Wike expressed shock that Fubara began this process within 100 days of his tenure, indicating that it demonstrated a lack of respect for the political foundation that supported his election.

During a media chat in Port Harcourt, Wike reflected on the solid groundwork he laid as governor, which he hoped Fubara would build upon to enhance Rivers State's infrastructure and competitiveness with Lagos State. Wike mentioned his legacy projects, including the multi-billion-naira Port Harcourt Ring Road and 12 flyovers, which he completed before leaving office.

He cautioned Fubara to be wary of those who may not have his best interests at heart and reiterated the need for careful political navigation to avoid widening the development gap between the two states.
