Emeka Ike Threatens Legal Action Over INEC Data Leak

Emeka Ike, a popular actor and politician, has vowed to take legal action against Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, over a data leak involving the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The controversy arose when Wike shared voter registration details from the INEC portal, which allegedly included Ike's personal information such as his application number, polling center, voter identification number, passport photograph, name, and registration date.

This incident has sparked a renewed debate on data privacy and the conduct of political figures in Nigeria. During an interview, Ike described the leak as a serious breach of privacy and an abuse of power, expressing shock at the extent of political misconduct.

He stated that no individual, regardless of their political position, has the right to access and publish personal information without authorization. Ike confirmed his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat in the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency under the platform of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) and called for public support to address governance issues in Abuja.
