Abuja Building Collapse: Five Dead, Victims Treated Free

A three-storey building collapsed in the Durumi area of Abuja near Gudu Market, leading to the death of five people. The incident occurred on a Saturday, and rescue operations lasted approximately nine hours, during which eleven individuals were recovered alive from the rubble.

Dolapo Fasaw, the Health Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory Authority (FCTA), confirmed the rescue efforts. Following the tragedy, Governor Nyesom Wike directed that all victims rescued from the rubble receive free medical treatment.

This directive was communicated through a statement by Wike's spokesman, Lere Olayinka. The situation has raised concerns about building safety standards in the area.
