Wike Promises Cooperation with New FCT Council Chairmen

On Wednesday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, committed to working collaboratively with the six newly elected area council chairmen during their visit to his office to collect their certificates ahead of their swearing-in on June 21. Wike stressed that political differences should not hinder development in the capital and highlighted the necessity for cooperation across party lines.

He acknowledged the importance of engaging stakeholders regardless of their political affiliations and expressed that the FCT Administration would continue to work with citizens to achieve results. Wike congratulated the newly elected chairmen from the APC, who won five out of six chairmanship seats in the February 21 elections, and assured them of the administration's support.

He also noted that the incoming chairmen should prepare for their new roles and emphasized the need for good governance to benefit the people of the state.
