Wike Promises Cooperation to Newly Elected FCT Chairmen

On February 21, elections were held in the Federal Capital Territory, where the People's Democratic Party won five out of six chairmanship seats across various area councils, including Gwagwalada, Abaji, Bwari, Kwali, and Kuje. Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, met with the newly elected council chairmen in Abuja on Wednesday to collect their certificates and prepare for their swearing-in ceremony in June.

Wike expressed his commitment to working with the new council officials, regardless of political affiliations, and highlighted the importance of collaboration to achieve effective governance. He acknowledged the support received from President Bola Tinubu during the elections and urged the chairmen to prepare for their new roles, assuring them of his administration's cooperation once they assume office.

Wike also commended the outgoing council leaders and wished them well in their future endeavors.
