Wike Critiques Fubara's Governance Decisions in Rivers

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, identified what he termed the biggest mistakes made by Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Wike stated that Fubara attempted to distance himself from the political structure that facilitated his election and began creating his own political framework less than 100 days into his tenure.

During a media chat in Port Harcourt, Wike expressed disappointment that Fubara did not appreciate the support he received from his predecessors, which undermined the foundation of his governance. Wike highlighted his administration's legacy projects, including the multi-billion-naira Port Harcourt Ring Road and the completion of 12 flyovers, aimed at improving infrastructure and positioning Rivers State to compete with Lagos.

He cautioned that Fubara's decisions widened the development gap between the two states and advised that politicians must be careful about whom they listen to, emphasizing the need for collaboration rather than confrontation.
