Wike Dismisses Makinde's Presidential Ambition as Dead

Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, publicly dismissed Seyi Makinde's presidential ambition, labeling it as "dead on arrival." This statement was made during an event in Ibadan, Oyo State, where Makinde had declared his interest in the presidency for the 2027 elections. Wike's comments followed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the African People's Movement (APM).

He criticized the notion of a broader alliance between the PDP and APM, insisting that Makinde's political maneuvers were aimed at advancing his personal ambitions rather than representing the official position of the PDP. Wike also responded to comments made by Sim Fubara regarding the situation within the All Progressives Congress (APC), questioning why there was sympathy for the APC's issues when no one had publicly complained about them.
