Wike Challenges Turaki on INEC Access Code Ahead of Elections

Nyesom Wike, during a National Executive Committee meeting, directed jibes at Tanimu Turaki, indicating that the authenticity of the PDP faction will be determined on June 26 when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is expected to provide access codes for uploading nomination forms. Wike stated that it would be revealed whether the access codes would be issued correctly and if the nominations were made from the authentic location.

He congratulated the party on successfully conducting primary elections while criticizing politicians who he described as opportunistic. Turaki, leading the interim national working committee of the PDP, warned candidates against defecting from the party, emphasizing that those whose names are submitted to INEC for the 2027 general elections must sign an undertaking to commit to the party.

He confirmed that former President Goodluck Jonathan has purchased a nomination form for the presidential candidacy in the upcoming elections.
