Wike Promises PDP Will Shock in 2027 Elections

Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, declared on Friday night that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) will deliver a stunning performance in the 2027 general elections, promising to shock opposing parties with its resurgence. Speaking during an inspection of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Wike emphasized the party's mission to rescue Nigeria and confirmed that the PDP's national convention is scheduled for March 29-30.

He dismissed a Supreme Court appeal led by Tanimu Turaki as an obstacle to the convention's proceedings. Wike acknowledged the need for reconciliation within the party, stating that it must accommodate all members' grievances.

He outlined a balanced distribution of positions among regions to avoid past internal divisions. The convention is expected to host around 2,500 delegates, with arrangements nearly complete.

Wike expressed confidence that the PDP would present a united front, contrasting with previous divisions, and stated that the 2027 elections would test the party's ability to translate unity into electoral viability against the incumbent APC.
