Wike Warns Makinde Against Unnecessary Political Battles

During the 107th National Executive Committee meeting of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja on Monday, Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, warned Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde against engaging in unnecessary political battles. Wike described Makinde's claims regarding a meeting involving the presidency as unfortunate and misleading.

He emphasized that political endeavors require strategy rather than bravado, advising PDP members to demonstrate loyalty ahead of the party's national convention scheduled for March 29-30. Wike cautioned that those who do not show commitment to the convention risk being sidelined.

He stressed the importance of unity and urged party leaders to intensify reconciliation efforts to maintain sincerity among members. Wike reiterated that politics is not akin to contracting work, highlighting the distinction between political business and contractual obligations.
