Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has firmly stated that the anticipated implosion of the APC, as suggested by opposition parties, will not occur. In an interview with Punch, Basiru described the opposition's claims of an imminent internal collapse as wishful thinking.

He highlighted that the recent congresses and the upcoming national convention have reinforced the unity within the APC rather than revealing any cracks or crises. Basiru noted that the outcomes of these events would likely surprise the opposition, which has been promoting the idea of division within the ruling party.

He urged opposition parties to focus on organizing themselves instead of hoping for the APC's political platform to fail, emphasizing that such wishful thinking is not a viable strategy for their survival in the political landscape.
