Nigeria's Broadband Penetration Hits 55.67% in 2026

As of April 2026, Nigeria's broadband penetration stands at 55.67%, with approximately 120.7 million active broadband subscribers. This figure reflects a steady increase over the months, with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) reporting growth in broadband subscriptions for 12 consecutive months.

The Nigerian National Broadband Plan 2020-2025 aims for a 70% penetration target by December 2025, which remains unachieved. The penetration rate was recorded at 48.01% in July 2025, increasing to 49.89% by October 2025.

By December 2025, it reached 51.97%, with further increases noted in January (53.07%), February (53.86%), and March (54.30%) of 2026. The NCC's statistics indicate a consistent rise in broadband subscriptions, highlighting the ongoing development within Nigeria's telecommunications sector.
