Ex-PSC Boss Urges Atiku to Support Peter Obi for 2027

Simon Okeke, the former chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), has publicly advised Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, to withdraw from the 2027 presidential race and instead support Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). In a statement made on Tuesday, Okeke described Obi as a nationally accepted presidential aspirant, acknowledging that while no human is perfect, Obi has made significant contributions to Nigeria's political history.

He urged Atiku to reciprocate the support he has received from the South-East during previous presidential bids, including the 2023 elections. Okeke's appeal extends to northern and southwestern political leaders to support Obi's candidacy, emphasizing the importance of equity and justice in the presidential rotation among Nigeria's regions.

He believes that Obi's presidency would foster a more equitable political landscape in Nigeria.
