Wike Criticizes Betrayal by Political Appointees

Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State, expressed his disappointment towards political appointees who have turned against him, during a joint gathering of stakeholders from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja. He cautioned against the rush to endorse internal divisions that could harm the political landscape.

Wike emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among stakeholders, warning against external forces that seek to create discord. He criticized individuals who, despite having received appointments through his influence, have publicly criticized his leadership, labeling such behavior as a failure of character.

Wike also dismissed rumors regarding private endorsements for local offices, asserting that he would not endorse any candidates at the state level until a meeting with elder party members occurs. He reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and acknowledged the efforts of council chairmen and party leaders in fostering unity.
