Woman Dies After Collapsing at UTME Center in Ondo

Oluwasola Adebayo reportedly collapsed while accompanying her child to the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) center in Ilara Mokin, Ifedore Local Government Area, Ondo State, on Tuesday. Eyewitnesses stated that she began to feel weak shortly after arriving near the examination venue and subsequently collapsed.

Despite efforts to revive her, she was confirmed dead at the scene. The incident caused confusion and distress among passersby, and news of her sudden death spread throughout the area, leaving the community in mourning.

The Ondo State Police Command, represented by spokesperson DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the incident but noted that the cause of death had not yet been officially determined. The family of the deceased has been contacted for verification.

This tragedy unfolded amid the ongoing nationwide UTME exercise, which involves approximately 2.2 million candidates across 966 accredited computer-based test centers from April 16 to April 22.
