OAU Medical Student Dies During Clinical Examination

Oreoluwa Emmanuel Adewol, a 400-level medical student at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), tragically passed away during a clinical viva examination. The incident occurred when Adewol reportedly complained of chest pain.

Abiodun Olarenwaju, the university's Public Relations Officer, confirmed that despite immediate medical attention from fellow medical students, efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. The news of his death sent shockwaves through the university community.

Professor Adebayo Bamir, the Vice Chancellor of OAU, extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the university's governing council, senate, staff, and students to Adewol's parents, siblings, and entire family, acknowledging the profound loss felt by friends and colleagues in the College of Health Sciences. The university management is currently engaging with relevant authorities to provide necessary support and further understand the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident.
