OAU Student Dies During Examination from Chest Pain

Oreoluwa Emmanuel Adewol, a Part IV student at the College of Health Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, passed away unexpectedly during a clinical viva examination on Thursday. The university management announced his death, describing it as sudden.

Reports indicate that Adewol complained of chest pain during the examination. University spokesperson Abiodun Olarewaju confirmed that fellow medical students were present and expressed regret over the incident.

Despite prompt medical attention, efforts to revive Adewol were unsuccessful, marking a tragic loss for the university community. The Vice Chancellor, Prof.

Simeon Bamir, extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the governing council, senate, staff, and students to Adewol's parents, siblings, and friends, acknowledging the pain of this irreparable loss. The university is currently engaging with relevant authorities to provide necessary support and to further understand the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident.
