Women Engineers in Nigeria Inaugurate New Executive Committee

The Association of Professional Women Engineers Nigeria inaugurated its new executive committee for the 2025-2027 term in Ado Ekiti, with Esther Adejuwon as the chairman. During the inauguration, Adejuwon emphasized the need to increase opportunities for women in engineering and expressed confidence in the capabilities of female engineers to advance the profession in Nigeria.

The association aims to prioritize mentoring and empowering female science students in secondary schools and engineering undergraduates in tertiary institutions. Four outstanding female graduates from Ekiti State University were celebrated during the event.

Adejuwon highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for women to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the engineering profession. Chinyer Igwegb, representing the new executive, called for action to empower young girls in Ekiti and urged the government and society to invest in women engineers.

The new executive committee includes Olaoti as vice chairman, Felicia Afolayan as general secretary, and others in key roles.
