Twellman Claims Portugal Best Without Ronaldo Ahead of World Cup

Taylor Twellman, a former forward for the New England Revolution and current ESPN analyst, claimed that Portugal is at its best when Cristiano Ronaldo does not play. This statement comes as the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaches, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Ronaldo, who plays for Al Nassr, is preparing for his sixth World Cup, joining Argentina's Lionel Messi in this historic event. Twellman expressed his belief that Portugal would be a stronger team without Ronaldo as they prepare for their matches in Group K, which includes DR Congo, Uzbekistan, and Colombia.

Additionally, Roberto Martinez's side is scheduled to play a friendly against Chile and Nigeria before the tournament begins in June.
