Fubara Advocates Eye Health on World Glaucoma Day

On March 12, 2023, marking World Glaucoma Day, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara reiterated his commitment to enhancing healthcare in the state. He urged citizens to prioritize eye health by getting screened for glaucoma, a leading cause of irreversible blindness globally.

In a goodwill message delivered from the Government House in Port Harcourt, Fubara highlighted the importance of early detection in preventing vision loss. He encouraged everyone, particularly those aged 40 and above and those with a family history of vision impairment, to visit healthcare facilities for eye checks.

Fubara's administration is dedicated to improving healthcare services in Rivers State and will continue to support initiatives aimed at promoting eye health and reducing preventable blindness. He emphasized the need for collective action to achieve a glaucoma-free Rivers State, underscoring the value of sight as priceless.
