NPC Urges Investment in Nigeria's Youth on Population Day

On World Population Day, the National Population Commission (NPC) of Nigeria, chaired by Dr. Aminu Yusuf, underscored the necessity for the government to invest in the country's youth to achieve national aspirations. Dr. Yusuf articulated the urgent need to tackle the challenges faced by young Nigerians, who seek education, decent employment, security, meaningful participation in governance, opportunities for innovation, and the freedom to shape their futures.

He stressed that addressing these needs is crucial for national development. Additionally, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, through a message delivered by UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Mr. Mohamed Malick Fall, acknowledged Nigeria as one of the nations with the youngest populations globally, reinforcing the importance of focusing on youth development.
