Nigeria's Relay Teams Qualify for World Relays Championship

The Nigeria Sports Commission (NSC), under the leadership of Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade, has praised Team Nigeria for successfully qualifying for the World Relays Championship scheduled for May in Gaborone, Botswana.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for Nigerian athletics, reflecting the NSC's strategic goal to collaborate with the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN). The men's 4x400m relay team, consisting of Samson Nathaniel, Emmanuel Oj Victor, Sampson Im Sikiru Adeyemi, confirmed their qualification at the Lefika International Relay held at the National Stadium in Gaborone.

Additionally, the mixed 4x100m relay team, featuring Maria Omokw, Chidera Ezeakor, Jame T Emmanuel, and Jennif Obi Chukwuka, also secured their spot. The women's 4x400m relay team, including Patience Okon, Georg Jecint Lawrence, Anita Enaruna, and Treasur Okerek, qualified during the MTN Championship at UJ Esuen Stadium in Calabar.

The NSC reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining investment in athlete development and grassroots programs, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's vision for Nigerian sports.
