NSC Supports Team Nigeria for 2026 World Athletics Relays

The Nigerian Sports Commission (NSC) is actively rallying support for Team Nigeria as they prepare for the 2026 World Athletics Relays scheduled to take place in Gaborone, Botswana, on May 2-3, 2026. Hon.

Olopade, a representative of the NSC, highlighted the importance of discipline, unity, and determination, urging the nation to stand firmly behind the athletes. He noted that the championship serves as a crucial platform for Nigeria to reinforce its pedigree in international athletics.

The NSC has expressed absolute faith in the athletes' ability to deliver and aims for them to secure qualification spots for the upcoming global championships. A total of 24 athletes will represent Nigeria, with the NSC committing to provide full support, including the physical presence of officials in Gaborone.

The team is set to depart on Monday aboard Ethiopian Airlines, consisting of a blend of experienced and emerging athletes competing in six relay events.
