IGP Olatunji Disu to Attend World Public Relations Forum

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, confirmed his attendance at the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) scheduled for November 15 to 21, 2026, in Abuja. This confirmation was made during a meeting at the Force Headquarters with a delegation led by Dr. Ike Neliaku, President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

IGP Disu, a full member of NIPR, stressed the vital role of public relations in effective policing and the necessity for collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and NIPR to enhance public trust. He acknowledged the current challenges in the Force's image and requested support from NIPR to help communicate that the police are friends of the public.

Dr. Neliaku urged the police to act as strategic partners and invited IGP Disu to speak at one of the sessions during the forum, which aims to improve global policing standards in areas like strategic communication and reputation management. The delegation included various prominent figures from the public relations sector.
