Tyla Excludes Lagos from APOP World Tour Amid Boycott

South African Grammy-winning singer Tyla Laura Seethal, known as Tyla, has excluded Lagos from her APOP World Tour itinerary following calls from some Nigerians for a boycott of her concert due to ongoing xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa. The Lagos concert was originally set for December 22 but has been removed from her updated tour schedule, which still includes performances in Europe, North America, and South Africa.

This decision came shortly after Tyla announced Lagos as the only Nigerian city on the tour. The announcement sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some Nigerians advocating for the concert's cancellation while others defended Tyla, arguing that musicians should not be held accountable for political issues.

Political activist Omoyele Sowore criticized the backlash against Tyla, stating that she should not be blamed for xenophobic incidents. Activist Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, threatened to mobilize his “Ratel Movement” to prevent the concert, emphasizing solidarity against xenophobic attacks.
